Aston Villa boss makes bold England prediction

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood predicts that England can win Euro 2016 with Fabian Delph at the heart of the team, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

Delph has been called into Roy Hodgson’s squad for the upcoming games against Lithuania and Italy, but this does not come as a surprise for his Aston Villa manager.

Sherwood has been a long-term admirer of the midfielder’s game and wanted to bring the 25-year-old to Tottenham Hotspur during his brief stint as manager last year, the Daily Mail reports.

Fabian Delph’s representatives met with Sherwood when he was managing Spurs but couldn’t strike a deal to bring the player to White Hart Lane.

The Aston Villa manager’s belief that Roy Hodgson’s team can win the upcoming European Championships to be held in France stems from the amount of young, English talent now playing in the Premier League.

Fabian Delph has made 19 league appearances for Villa this season but is yet to get on the scoresheet.
