Remi Garde has only been Aston Villa’s manager for a few hours, but he’d be forgiven for feeling like hopping back onto the Eurostar and heading for the safety of France.
First off the Villans spelt his name wrong during the excited unveiling process (Remy, instead of Remi) and now the team he will have to drag clear of relegation have shown just why they’re bottom of the Premier League without a win since the opening day.
Within three minutes at White Hart lane the Midlanders found themselves 1-0 down, and the goal they conceded was reminiscent of Sunday League action. Mousa Dembele isolated Ciaran Clark, out-muscled him, drove into the box and smashed the ball through Brad Guzan.
Not pretty viewing.
And, as always, Twitter has reacted in the predicted fashion… Here are some of the bets bits!
