Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce is under pressure from the fans this season following their failure to win the Championship playoff final at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

At the moment the club sit 15th in the standings after winning just three of their 10 matches, five of which have been draws and two defeats.

Villa’s rivals West Bromwich Albion are currently at the top of the standings with a six-point lead over Bruce’s side.

On Friday, the Villans had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Bristol City, but they would have been on the losing side had Birkir Bjarnason not scored the equaliser.

After witnessing West Brom move to the summit of the Championship, Twitter account @HeartOfTheHolte admitted admiration for the Baggies’ boss Darren Moore, who was handed the permanent job following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season.

The post sparked a discussion among Villa fans, with some in agreement and others looking from a different perspective.
