Aston Villa fans haven't had anything to shout about since August, when they kicked off the new Premier League season with a win over newly promoted Bournemouth.

Since then it's been a complete and utter shambles at Villa Park. They haven't won a league game since and they're now rock bottom with just six points on the board and a huge eight points from safety.

Tim Sherwood got the axe and was replaced by Remi Garde, but the Frenchman is yet to have found a way to stop the rot at the midlands club.

As I write this Villa are already 1-0 down to Arsenal, courtesy of an Olivier Giroud penalty, but it was before the game that Villa fans appeared to have lost all hope of a revival this season. And I suppose you can't blame them - a club has never stayed up after having just six points at this stage of a season.

And Villa fans on Twitter appeared to have given up on Twitter before the game had even started...
