Aston Villa fans are unsure about replacing Steve Bruce with Thierry Henry

Thierry Henry is on a shortlist of managers to replace Steve Bruce at Aston Villa , according to The Daily Mail.

Villa have been struggling with financial uncertainty ever since they failed to win promotion to the Premier League via the play off final, but they received a fresh injection from Egyptian Nassef Sawiris, who has a reported £5billion wealth, and his business partner Wes Edens.

The pair have reportedly bought a 55 per cent stake in the club from Tony Xia and are already set to stamp their authority on the club.

Even though Steve Bruce took Villa to within one game of the top flight, Thierry Henry is being touted as a potential replacement after helping Roberto Martinez take Belgium to the Semi-Finals of the World Cup.

Henry has spoken since about his desire to quit punditry and enter management so it appears there could be more than a hint of truth in the rumours.

Villa fans have been reacting to the news on social media and here’s what they’ve had to say.
