Trezeguet has not been guaranteed a place in the Aston Villa team recently, but when he has started, the Egyptian has ensured an impact will be made.

In Villa's last five games, he has started thrice, was left on the bench against Newcastle United and replaced Anwar El Ghazi when the Dutchman was injured against Manchester United.

In the three games that he did start, the Egypt international managed to get a goal in each of them.

Not everybody is in the mood to celebrate this form, however, due to the results that have come in those games, as each of them ended in 2-1 defeats.

It can perhaps add to this frustration that in the games he didn't start, Villa were able to pick up four points by beating Newcastle and drawing with Man United at Old Trafford.

Another reason for disappointment regarding this statistic is that it acted as a reminder of how rare it has been for Wesley to get on the scoresheet.

Their striker has now gone seven Premier League games without a single goal or assist, which has led to numerous fans debating how effective the Brazilian has been for their club.

This has also led to one fan bemoaning that Wesley is often not substituted off, having completed the full 90 minutes in each of Villa's last four games. One supporter, meanwhile, wanted him to start alongside the forward.

In other news, Aston Villa fans reacted to the latest of Trezeguet's goals.
