Aston Villa fans back Steer to impress next season

Aston Villa’s failure to secure promotion to the Premier League has left the club in a difficult position both on and off the field.

Indeed, Villa’s defeat to Fulham in the Championship playoff final means that they will stay in the second tier of English football at least for the 2018-19 campaign.

It also means that they will be unable to sign on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who impressed at Villa Park last term.

As a result, Steve Bruce’s side need a new number one for next season.

Bruce will seemingly look to sign a new stopper, but the Villa supporters believe that the answer to the problem is already at the club.

Indeed, Jed Steer has been tipped to impress if given the chance next season.

The 25-year-old has been with Villa since 2013, but has only ever made seven first-team appearances for the club.

He has spent time on loan at Doncaster Rovers, Yeovil Town and Huddersfield Town in recent seasons, but the Villa supporters want the former England Under-19 international to be given the opportunity to replace Johnstone between the sticks.
