Mile Jedinak is a vastly experienced footballer, and deserves respect having proved himself in the Premier League and at international level during his career.
The 34-year-old, however, is currently having a very difficult time in central defence.
Jedinak has earned his keep as a central midfielder, but has been pressed into action at centre-back for Villa in the early weeks of the 2018-19 campaign.
The Villa fans have not been pleased with his performances in that area of the field, and he again struggled in Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at Sheffield United.
Villa are actually currently on a run of five games without a win in all competitions despite boasting one of the most talented squads in the Championship.

Head coach Steve Bruce allowed Tommy Elphick to leave Villa Park on loan before the summer window closed, meaning that James Chester is the club’s only senior centre-back.
The Villa supporters are becoming increasingly frustrated with Jedinak’s performances, and have now criticised the 6ft 2in ace’s display against Sheffield United.
A selection of the Twitter reaction can be seen below:
I have no problem with bruce playing jedinak. In fact I’m quiet happy when I see jedinak in the team. But ONLY as a defensive center mid! Where has played all his career not as a failed experiment of a center back! #avfc

Would playing Bedeau or Suliman at CB really be any worse than playing Jedinak? #avfc

Right or wrong I’ll always back the manager in the dugout and never shout up for them to leave. Bruce is doing himself no favours and doesn’t need someone who plays the game to tell you, Jedinak at centre half and now the lack of cover in defence is actually baffling #avfc

Jedinak all over the shop, as expected, but for the legend that is the Scottish Cafu, his positioning isnt all that great? And his passion and commitment looks a little bit off in the second picture, jogging after his man after getting caught 🤷 #avfc https://t.co/hAEbXSYDaC

Everyone will blame the keeper but for some of the goals just look at what Hutton, Jedinak and Whelan, the most experienced out there are doing. These are apparently the guys who role up their sleeves and put on their boots #avfc @AVFCOfficial #bruceout

Is Bruce the only person who cannot see Jedinak is not a CB? Defenders also have very little confidence in the keeper which is costing us points. Still baffled as to why Steer & Elphick were allowed to go #avfc
