According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa are interested in signing Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham on loan for the 2018-19 campaign.

The 20-year-old signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea last summer before joining Swansea City on loan for the 2017-18 campaign.

Abraham netted five Premier League goals for Swansea last term, but could not prevent the Welsh outfit from being relegated to the Championship.

The striker - valued at £9m by Transfermarkt - is now back with Chelsea ahead of the new season, but it is understood that he could again leave on loan before the window closes.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Villa want to use their new sturdy position in the market to bring the two-time England international, who has also been linked with Rangers, to Villa Park.

The Villa fans have been reacting to the news on social media, and it would be fair to say that they are desperate for Abraham to join their club ahead of the new season.
