The introduction of VAR in the 2019/20 campaign has seen a number of controversies arise in the Premier League, with questions over the suitability of the technology and its implementation in the English top-flight.
But the news that Aston Villa officials have written to the league regarding their concerns over the system has led to a number of the club’s fans praising and debating the decision.
Villa have had a number of bizarre refereeing calls arise in the current campaign, including Kevin Friend disallowing an equaliser in injury time at Selhurst Park as well as Conor Hourihane’s goal against Brighton being ruled out despite no clear reason being given by VAR.
The news that the club have written to the Premier League to express their concerns is certainly a step in the right direction – especially considering the latest update that fans will be provided with more detailed updates whilst in the stadium.
Consequently, these Villa supporters were quick to praise the club for their decision to write to the league. Here are some of the best reactions.

Could be the difference between staying up and going down. We’ve lost valuable points cos of VAR.

Surely if every club in the League complain the Premierleague have to listen and review it in its current form as it’s taking the enjoyment out of the sport.
