According to Birmingham Live, Aston Villa are considering a number of goalkeeping options ahead of the January transfer window.
Orjan Nyland holds the gloves for Villa, but the 28-year-old has struggled to make his mark at Villa Park, and the Championship outfit are said to be in the market for a new stopper.
Villa have recently been linked with a swoop for Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
However, the likes of Burnley’s Tom Heaton and Southampton’s Fraser Forster have also been discussed by the club’s fans on social media.
A couple of the Villa supporters have also suggested that their club should attempt to sign West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who spent last season on loan at Villa from Manchester United.
It will certainly be interesting to see how this one ends, and the Villa fans have had an interesting debate on social media regarding the situation.
A selection of the Twitter reaction can be seen below:
One with experience in goalkeeping would be a great start…

I’d take Fraser Foster or Tom Heaton

Heaton is apparently set to join in Jan. Weather that is true or not, we shall see.

Much needed! Let’s hope we get someone half-decent as one of the key things costing us
