Aston Villa fans don’t understand why Jedinak played in defeat to QPR

Aston Villa’s ambitions to gain automatic promotion to the English Premier League took a critical blow on Tuesday night after they were defeated 3-1 at home to bottom half Queens Park Rangers.

With the Championship schedule thick and fast right now, Steve Bruce’s side know they have to maintain momentum if they’re to finish second but now find themselves seven points behind Cardiff City.

After a mammoth result against Wolves on Saturday, it was always a big ask to follow that up so soon after, but fans were still expecting them to take care of a team struggling for form over the last couple of months.

Fans were left perplexed by some of Bruce’s team selection calls, most notably the decision to play 33-year-old Mile Jedinak just days after an energy sapping performance at the weekend.

The midfielder looked off the pace all evening and supporters noted he was a big contributing factor to their inability to win.
