As reported by The Daily Mail this week, Aston Villa are monitoring the situation of West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jake Livermore, with a view to signing him this summer should they gain promotion to the top-flight.
The 28-year-old has been a regular in the awful Baggies side that is set to be relegated from the Premier League this season and the drop to the Championship could spark a mass exodus of players, according to the paper.
Aston Villa fans though are desperate not to sign the midfielder, believing he is far below the quality required should they make it out of the English Championship.
The strength of feeling is so high about not bringing him to Villa Park that some supporters even think the link is indicative of why they shouldn’t continue with Steve Bruce as manager, even if they go up.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the potential transfer…
Exactly the reason why we should sack Bruce even if we go up! He will lumber us with overpaid, average British players, exactly like MON did. Get rid! #avfc
