Having travelled with the Aston Villa first team to Portugal on a pre-season training camp, defender Mitchell Clark featured in the club’s 3-0 win over Telford last weekend.
The 19-year-old played the full 90 minutes of the clash with Telford, and will be looking to make an impression during this pre-season.
The Wales Under-19 international played 19 Premier League 2 matches for Villa’s Under-23 team last season, and also made his first-team debut in the EFL Cup against Wigan Athletic.
Villa’s financial problems mean that they are under pressure to sell this summer, and that might well be good news for some of the club’s younger players.

A lot of Villa fans recently paid tribute to the potential of Clark, and they have been offering their views once again following his performance against Telford at New Bucks Head.
It is certainly a testing time to be a Villa supporter, but you sense that things will work out when all is said and done.
