Aston Villa played out a dramatic 3-3 draw with Preston North End on Tuesday evening, a game which had plenty of twists and turns.

The hosts raced into a two-goal lead in the first half but the match turned on it's head after the interval, as Villa saw James Chester sent off - which allowed their opponents to claw themselves back into the game, taking a 3-2 lead late on.

Yannick Bolasie came off the bench to rescue a point for Steve Bruce's side but it could have been even better for Villa, who saw a last-minute penalty from Glenn Whelan saved by Preston stopper Chris Maxwell.

The draw extended Villa's poor run of form to just one victory from their last ten matches across all competitions and leaves them floating in the bottom-half of the table.

Fans took to social media to react to Whelan's dramatic penalty miss and many questioned why he was even on spot-kick duty in the first place. We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
