On Wednesday night, Wolverhampton Wanderers strengthened their position at the top of the Championship table with a 3-0 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road.
Many rival supporters took note of the result, in particular Aston Villa fans as their team will host Wolves this Saturday in the late kickoff.
As it stands, Wolves have a six-point lead at the top of the standings, while Villa are third, four points adrift of the automatic promotion places.
Steve Bruce’s side failed to earn a playoff spot last season, but they appear better equipped this time around.
In their last 11 league games, the team have suffered defeat just once, and they head into this weekend’s fixture on the back of a 3-0 triumph over Sunderland.
Fans were particularly happy to see Jack Grealish return from injury against the Black Cats.
Villa face an unenviable task of trying to halt Wolves, though, as their rivals have lost just five of their 35 matches this season.
After witnessing the team’s convincing win over Leeds, Villa supporters have been taking to Twitter.

Wolves are too good for us. We had our chance at 2nd & blew it instantly, the fact we aren't 2nd is our own fault & frankly it's poor , we will be 7pts off 2nd come Saturday night & that'll end our chances of promotion because we won't win the playoffs #avfc

If you asked me for a prediction ahead of Wolves… atm as it looks like we will have everyone fit, I'd say 2-2. Or 2-1 either way. Don't think we will be embarrassed like we were at Molineux. #avfc
