Aston Villa fans loved bold Smith decision despite defeat to West Brom

Loads of Aston Villa fans have been running the rule over their 2-0 defeat at the hands of West Brom, and they have found one silver lining.

Aston Villa continue to show they have absolutely no idea how to defend at home, and the Villans have now conceded more home league goals than any other side in the top four divisions.

Dean Smith’s side welcomed a red-hot West Brom attack to Villa Park on Saturday, but the Baggies were without Dwight Gayle, who is serving a two-match suspension for diving.

That didn’t matter though, as the visitors scored two quick goals in the first half through Hal Robson-Kanu and Jay Rodriguez, effectively putting the game out of reach in the space of four minutes.

While there weren’t many positives to take from the Villa performance, fans are delighted that Smith introduced Jacob Ramsey for his debut in the second half.

The 17 year-old replaced Conor Hourihane, who is in absolutely woeful form at the moment, and fans are praising the manager for shaking things up and showing the underperforming regulars that their places are not guaranteed.
