Aston Villa announced the loan signing of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham on August's second deadline day for EFL clubs, and Villa fans on Twitter were buzzing about the England international joining.

Abraham spent last season on loan with Swansea, scoring eight goals in 39 appearances as the Welsh club were relegated from the Premier League. However, his loan deal away from Chelsea before that was to the Championship with Bristol City during the 2016/17 season where he netted 26 times in 48 games in all competitions.

The 20-year-old was recently called up to Aidy Boothroyd’s England U21 squad for the crucial UEFA European U21 Championship qualifiers against the Netherlands and Latvia. He also has two caps for Gareth Southgate's senior side despite his young age.

The signing certainly excited Villa fans and ramped up the expectations for boss Steve Bruce, who now surely has the ability in his squad to push for automatic promotion after the club lost out to Fulham in the playoff final last season.
