The Sun journalist Mike McGrath revealed on his official Twitter account on Monday that free agent midfielder Jordon Mutch is due to train with Aston Villa this week following his release by Crystal Palace, and Villa fans were quick to react.

The Eagles announced via their official website on January 4th that they had parted company with the 27-year-old midfielder by mutual consent, having made only 40 appearances in all competitions for them since signing from Queens Park Rangers four years previously.
An underwhelming loan spell with Reading was followed by another playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS.
Now the former Birmingham City man will be looking for a new club, and it appears he is to be given a chance to impress Dean Smith, who may well be looking for reinforcements this month as he aims to turn the club’s season around and make them real promotion contenders.
Aston Villa supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the rumour. Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
He's very well hated at Palace. Their fans think he's a parasite who is happy to be paid to do nothing. We have enough of those. No thanks.
