According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United are not interested in signing Aston Villa forward Jonathan Kodjia in this summer’s transfer window.
Kodjia has been strongly linked with a move away from Villa in recent weeks, and Leeds were one of a number of clubs believed to be interested.
The 28-year-old, who is valued at £8.10m by Transfermarkt, only netted one goal in 15 Championship appearances for Villa last term.
The powerful striker missed a lot of football through injury, however, and did manage 19 Championship goals during his first season at Villa.
Villa’s financial problems are expected to see Kodjia sold this summer, but it appears that Leeds are not actually in the race for the centre-forward, who could be the man to save their 2018/19 campaign even if they lose other key men this summer.
The news has gone down well with the Villa supporters, who feel that the Frenchman is too good for their Championship rivals.
