According to Birmingham Live, Everton attacker Yannick Bolasie was at Aston Villa’s training ground on Tuesday afternoon to discuss a potential switch to Villa Park.
Middlesbrough were believed to be on the verge of announcing the signing of the 29-year-old on Monday night.
However, it was reported that Bolasie held talks with Villa boss Steve Bruce on Tuesday afternoon ahead of a potential switch to the Championship outfit.
Bolasie – valued at £16.2m by Transfermarkt – has been deemed surplus to requirements at Everton this summer following the arrival of Marco Silva as the Merseyside outfit’s new head coach.

Bolasie’s Everton career has largely been harmed by injury, but the attacker drew a host of attention during his time at Crystal Palace.
Bolasie will seemingly now drop down into the Championship for the remainder of this season, and the Villa fans have been offering their views on the speculation.

Fair play to him to come down to see Villa. But i believe he will go to middlesbrough to link up with his ex manager Tony pulis.

Cracking player before the injury. Could be a great move for both

Decent signing if we can make it happen. Keep him fit and he’ll be a good addition in the championship
