Aston Villa were believed to be interested in signing Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn on loan for the 2018-19 campaign.
The 18-year-old is a super talent, and it is not a surprise that a number of clubs are being credited with an interest in the Wales international.

The news has come as somewhat of a surprise to many, with Villa rightly regarded as the bigger club at that level of football.
However, Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder appears to have worked his magic, and Woodburn, who has been involved for Liverpool during pre-season, will seemingly soon arrive at Bramall Lane.
The Villa fans have been offering their views on the news on social media, and a selection of the best Twitter reaction can be seen below:
Shame if we dont get woodburn, but seems Liverpool have put in playing time requirements that Bruce isnt going to adhere to. #avfc

He ain’t that good. Would rather its use our own youngsters that deserve a chance!

Again, as I mentioned a couple days ago, given how Liverpool structure their loan deals, Woodburn didn’t necessarily make sense for #AVFC unless Grealish is sold. Jack still might be sold, but we can’t make that decision now. Blades can. https://t.co/9VutMfkYmk

No woodburn then, style of play or game time the reason he seems to be going Sheff Utd. Or it could be just a better fit geographically? Either way, disappointing news. #avfc

That’s a blow if we’ve missed out on Woodburn #avfc

Woodburn has a zero chance of coming on loan to B6 unless Jack is sold At the moment tight wad Levy is offering £15M for him so clubs are a long way apart #AVFC
