Aston Villa will not take to the pitch again competitively until March 31 due to the international break, but they have some positive injury news ahead of their next game against Hull City.

Jonathan Kodjia is edging closer to full fitness having played 45 minutes of a friendly at Bodymoor Heath this week.

The attack-minded player has not featured in Steve Bruce's side since the team's goalless draw with arch rivals Birmingham City in October.

An ankle injury - his second in a year - has kept the 28-year-old on the sidelines, but it appears that he is now making progress.

As expected, Villa fans were delighted by the update.

Not only is there good news for Kodjia, but Alan Hutton has returned to full training following almost a month on the treatment table.

The 33-year-old had started 24 Championship games before he suffered a hamstring injury during the Villans' 4-2 victory over Sheffield Wednesday in February.

It is safe to say that Villa fans were delighted by this news as well, particularly as they needed a boost following back-to-back league defeats.
