Aston Villa have struggled for consistency this season and a defeat at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend leaves the promotion hopefuls sat in the bottom half of the table.
Steve Bruce’s side have now won just one of their last eight matches across all competitions and are in need of major improvements on the field if they are to compete for a playoff spot – although fans have been handed a huge boost.
It has been confirmed that 23-year-old Jack Grealish has signed a new five-year deal at Villa Park, tying the midfield favourite down to a lengthy deal.
The new deal provides a major boost to Villa and their promotion hopes this season, as the midfielder is a key part of Bruce’s side, and ends months of speculation that have surrounded their prime asset.
Villa fans took to social media to issue their reactions to the update and we have gathered some of the best responses below.
Now it’s down to the club to build something around him that makes him want to stay and be proud of his club. #AVFC

The name ‘Grealish’ begins with the letter G. The word ‘God’ also begins with the letter G. That is not just coincidence!
