According to le10sport, Aston Villa have made a loan offer for Leicester City forward Islam Slimani and hope to complete a deal before the end of the month.
The 31-year-old is currently on loan at Monaco, finding the back of the net on seven occasions in 14 appearances for the Ligue 1 side during the 2019/20 campaign.
Slimani is due to spend the remainder of the season with the principality club, but le10sport suggest that Villa believe a deal is possible.
As well as scoring seven times for Monaco, he has also contributed seven assists.
And a lot of Villa fans are keen for the deal to go through this month.
Football is a funny old game, though, and whilst there are a number of Villa fans who would be interested in Slimani arriving before the end of the month, others are not.
Despite boasting a strong scoring record this season, the Algeria international has only scored 13 times in 46 appearances for Leicester and failed to find the back of the net during a disappointing loan spell at Newcastle United.
Meanwhile, Villa could reportedly look to sign this English forward before the end of the transfer window.
