According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Aston Villa are interested in signing Porto defender Saidy Janko, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest.
Janko, who is a former Manchester United youngster, joined Porto from Saint-Etienne during the summer, but moved on loan to Forest in August.
The right-back has made five Championship appearances during the 2018-19 campaign, and it is being reported that Villa want to sign Janko once his loan spell at Forest has ended.
The 23-year-old could be available for as little as £2m – according to O’Rourke – and new Villa boss Dean Smith believes that Janko is capable of playing in the Premier League with the English club.
The Villa fans have been reacting to the report, and it would be fair to say that a number are struggling to see the move happening.
Indeed, Villa are pretty well-stocked at right-back, and there are more pressing concerns for the club’s supporters than that area of the field.
A selection of the Twitter reaction can be seen below:
Can’t see it considering he’s on loan at Forest!
