Aston Villa are beginning to show that spending a lot of money in the summer does not necessarily guarantee success following promotion to the Premier League.

In all fairness, it was a problem Fulham struggled with last year, but the Midlands club's new signings have not gelled at the start of this campaign. After seven matches, the Villans sit 18th in the table and have won just one match so far.

On Saturday, they were in action against Burnley at Villa Park in a game they would have been hoping to win. When they took the lead, twice, many inside the ground may have been liking their chances of grabbing all three points. However, the Clarets were resilient and clawed their way back on both occasions, meaning that Dean Smith and co had to settle for a draw.

There were some worrying issues in defence, and it was actually one of the players who helped get them promoted who struggled in particular. Neil Taylor played just 29 minutes, but did not help shore up the Villans' backline when he came on.

His poor display did not go unnoticed by the club's supporters. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
