Tony Xia is known for his interaction with Aston Villa fans on Twitter, and the club owner attracted plenty of interest with a cryptic post over the weekend.
On Sunday, the Chinese businessman indicated that the Championship outfit will be signing a new player on January 24, which is Wednesday.

Xia used only emojis in the tweet, but it was enough to convince fans that Villa will be making their first signing of the summer.
For a while, Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa was thought to be on the club’s radar.
However, the Birmingham Mail suggests that the Argentine is closing in on a move to Crystal Palace.
The publication goes on to say that the new arrival could be Manchester United’s Axel Tuanzebe – a 20-year-old defender who is seeking more regular game time.
As expected, plenty of Villa fans tweeted their thoughts on who could be coming through the welcome gates later this week.
Others, though, made some tongue-in-cheek suggestions.
paint brush instead of pen > famous painter > leonardo da vinci.. > leonardo ulloa. ?
