Aston Villa were on a high after causing an upset against Wolverhampton Wanderers last week.
Steve Bruce’s side defeated the Championship leaders 3-0 at Villa Park, which gave them a big boost of confidence heading into Tuesday night’s game against Queens Park Rangers.
Once again, the team had the advantage of the home crowd, but on this occasion things did not go to plan.
The Midlands outfit went 2-0 down after the first 33 minutes, and conceded a third with seven minutes of normal time remaining.
James Chester, who was praised heavily by the Villa fans following his performance against Wolves, managed to get on the scoresheet for the team, but it was too late to inspire a comeback.
The result was only their second in 13 league matches and they remain third in the table, but seven points adrift of the automatic promotion spots.
Despite the setback, some fans have decided to keep a positive outlook.
I mean we have had an insanely good run – freak losses do happen – wolves games was a big win and very recent – brush it off focus on next games

Fair play to QPR, they did a job. Energy lacked, need 12/12 in the next four to give ourselves a chance for the run in. UTV

It wasn't the result we wanted but now it's time to concentrate on the next game on Saturday against Bolton and get the 3 points we need #Keepthefaith
