It would be fair to say that there was a lot of excitement amongst Aston Villa fans when their club managed to sign Anwar El Ghazi during the summer.

El Ghazi moved to Villa on loan from Lille, and it was some coup for the Championship outfit – and former boss Steve Bruce – when considering the attacker’s talent.

However, it has not quite happened for the 23-year-old, who has scored just once in the Championship during the 2018-19 campaign.

El Ghazi has not been involved in Villa's last three Championship matches, and has played just 40 minutes of league football since September 22.

Last month, a number of Villa fans criticised El Ghazi, but it seems that the club's supporters are still behind the talented attacker.

The Netherlands international still has the time to turn things around at Villa Park, and he will hope to impress head coach Dean Smith in training during the international break.
