Axel Tuanzebe was an unused substitute in Aston Villa’s 2-0 win over Rotherham United in the Championship on Tuesday night.
Tuanzebe is back at Villa on loan from Manchester United, and has made six Championship appearances for Steve Bruce’s side this season.
The 20-year-old sees himself as a central defender, but has only appeared in that position on one occasion since joining Villa.
That is a surprise when considering Villa’s issues at centre-back, but Tuanzebe will not mind too much as long as he is receiving starts.
Tuanzebe would have been frustrated to have been left out against Rotherham, and the Villa fans were also not too pleased with Bruce’s decision when it comes to the Englishman.
Mile Jedinak was once again selected alongside James Chester in central defence, and that is not something that the club’s supporters want to see.
A selection of the Twitter reaction from the Villa fans can be seen below:
I think Bruce writes squad numbers of a series of ping pong balls, mixes them up, then just randomly pulls out 11 names..
