Back in May, The Mirror claimed that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was set to give defender Axel Tuanzebe a chance in the first team next season.
However, a development last month saw Villa look to reignite their hopes of bringing him back to the Midlands. Yet, the Manchester Evening News have now quashed those rumours, expressing that the 21-year-old wants to force his way into United’s squad.
Reacting to the news on Twitter, many fans were quick to express their unhappiness.
One fan claimed that he was disappointed but wasn’t surprised whilst another displayed his concerns by saying that Tuanzebe wouldn’t be happy.
A further supporter seemed to be frustrated that the saga was even continuing, urging everyone to move on from the defender and what was happening. One individual called it a massive shame.
Despite spending a proportion out with injury last season, Tuanzebe was hugely impressive for Villa and played a key role in helping them achieve promotion towards the back end of 2018/19.
Here’s the best of the reaction.

Disappointing for him. Deserves to be playing. Loan him out, recall if necessary
