According to reports in the Birmingham Mail, Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa is one of a number of centre-forwards that Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce is tracking ahead of the January transfer window, and Villa fans have urged the club to sign the 31-year-old.

The Birmingham Mail says that Ulloa, Huddersfield Town's Nahki Wells, Bournemouth's Lewis Grabban and Liverpool's Danny Ings are all on Bruce's list with last season's top goalscorer Jonathan Kodjia set to be out for months with an ankle injury.

Despite signing a new two-year deal with the Foxes in August, Ulloa has only played eight minutes of Premier League football for the east Midlands outfit so far this term, with his only other game time for the first team coming in the EFL Cup.

Aston Villa supporters were quick to have their say on the prospect of adding the Argentine to their squad in the New Year via social media, and while one said "signing Ulloa = promotion", another said "Ulloa is the player we need".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
