Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer joined Charlton Athletic on loan during the summer, and the 26-year-old has been in good form for the League One side this season.
Steer kept a clean sheet as Charlton won 2-0 at Walsall on Tuesday night, and his performance sparked a reaction from the Villa fans.
There were many Villa supporters who felt that Steer should have been given the chance to nail down the number one spot at Villa Park this season.
Orjan Nyland was instead brought to the club, but the 28-year-old has struggled to win over the supporters due to a number of below-par performances.
Steer is due to spend the remainder of the season on loan at Charlton, but there are Villa fans who want their club to recall the stopper in January.
There is no question that Villa are missing Sam Johnstone, who was so impressive between the sticks last season.
A selection of the Twitter reaction can be seen below:
Why isn’t Jed Steer playing for @AVFCOfficial instead of that useless lump we currently have in goal?

Probably haven’t seen enough of Steer or Moreira to make that judgement, but surely better to have our own than someone else’s if only to free up space for another loan signing?
