According to Football Insider, Sheffield United want to sign Aston Villa forward Scott Hogan on loan for the remainder of the 2018-19 campaign.
Hogan did not feature in Villa’s first two Championship matches of the new season, and was also left out of the squad for their League Cup fixture with Yeovil Town on Tuesday night.
The 26-year-old joined Villa from Brentford in January 2017, and managed nine goals in all competitions for the club last season, which made him popular with the Villa fans.
Hogan – valued at £6.3m by Transfermarkt – is seemingly not in the plans of head coach Steve Bruce this term, however, and it seems likely that he will be departing Villa Park on loan.

The Villa fans have been airing their views on the news on social media, and it would be fair to say that they are desperate for the Republic of Ireland international to stay at the club.
A selection of the Twitter reaction from the club’s supporters can be seen below:
So many foolish Villa fans judging Hogan on being force fed on a diet of Bruceball. Hogan was stellar for Brentford which is why we bought him – but Brentford play football on the ground, whereas we lump it long. With Grealish and McGinniesta there is hope.

With Mcginn- iesta , Grealish and Hourihane i beleive we can provide the correct service for Hogan.
Be madness to loan him out…Get him fit and get him putting pressure on JK( he needs some competition)

He’s never had the service, he’s a quality player who’s been unlucky with injuries
