Aston Villa fans discuss Jack Grealish’s woeful display

So Aston Villa’s recent Premier League misery continues.

Dean Smith’s side travelled to Southampton on Saturday afternoon on the back of two successive defeats in the top-flight, and knew a positive result was crucial in their bid to stave off relegation this season.

But an early Shane Long strike and a late Stuart Armstrong goal was enough to consign them to yet another loss, and one man who struggled to inspire his team, was Jack Grealish.

The Villa captain has been his side’s biggest talisman this season, netting nine goals and providing a further eight assists.

But against the Saints, the 24-year-old had an afternoon to forget. As per Sofascore, he had a 77% pass accuracy, had no shots on target whatsoever, failed to complete any of his eight attempted crosses, and lost possession a mammoth 23 times.

After seeing his performance, Villa fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the midfielder, with many slamming his performance and failing to excuse him.

One fan meanwhile took a particularly extreme response, suggesting that he should never play for the club again.

Another supporter meanwhile simply admitted that Villa have got “absolutely nothing” when Grealish has a bad day at the office.

If anyone is allowed an off-day, then Grealish would be that man.

It is almost an impossible task for people to expect the £31.5m-rated ace to deliver the goods week-in and week-out.

When did that happen?! Premier League experts will know which surprising clubs these stars once played for…
