According to reports in the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are set to appoint Gary Walsh as their new goalkeeping coach.
The former Manchester United goalkeeper had been working with current Villa boss Steve Bruce at Hull City for four years, but the 48-year-old decided to stay at the KCOM Stadium when Bruce resigned his position in the summer.
The duo were also team-mates in the early days of Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign as Manchester United manager.
Well, Bruce was recently appointed at Villa and it appears as though Walsh has had a change of heart and is now keen to make the move to the Midlands.
If he does, he will follow Stephen Clemence, who also left Hull to become Bruce’s first-team coach at the Championship outfit.
They do. Massimo Battara currently holds the position having been brought to the club by former boss Roberto Di Matteo, but he is likely to be deemed surplus to requirements should Walsh once again link up with Bruce.
