Aston Villa star hints at stay

Andreas Weimann the super-sub against NorwichAndreas Weimann is adamant that Aston Villa are ‘only going to get better’ which suggests he wants to stay put at the club.

The highly-rated 21-year-old Austrian international has alerted several clubs with his performances for Villa this season, having scored 12 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions.

And, while he is about to enter the final year of his Villa Park contract, boss Paul Lambert has always been hopeful of ensuring Weimann would remain at Villa Park beyond the end of his current deal.

Weimann has now spoken out to praise the way Villa improved towards the end of this past season and he feels the side will be a force to be reckoned with next term and beyond which suggests he wants to remain a part of things.

He told the Daily Mirror: “What the gaffer is building here we all believe in and we just have to continue working hard for him and each other.
“I think that’s what Aston Villa is about. It’s a family club.

“We’re growing and getting better all the time, and I think there’s a lot of potential in the team right now because as players we’re only going to get better.

“Like I said, the spirit and belief within the squad and within the club is really good

“It’s really exciting for everyone, it’s exciting for the players, it’s exciting for the fans and it’s exciting for the club.

“I’ve been here for six years now and I’ve loved every minute of it.”
