Aston Villa star told he’ll never play for the club again

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has told Alan Hutton he will never player for Aston Villa again, according to MailOnline.

The Scottish defender is part of a number of players in high wages at Villa Park following Randy Lerner’s bold attempts to bank role a route in to the Champions League. ┬áBut now the club is looking to reduced the financial outlay on wages as it begins regaining control of its finances.

And Lambert admits Hutton, who is training with the club’s under-21s, has no hope of playing for the club again and will free leave the club in the summer.

He said: “Alan understands the situation here. I’ve had good conversations with him.

“It will be unlikely that he will ever play here. He knows that. We need to get the structure down to a level. We have to look at the books and Alan understands that.

“Is it all to do with the money? More or less, yes. Finances are just the way they are. It’s nobody’s fault. That’s just the way football is.”

But Lambert insists he is not trying to ruin Hutton’s career and there has never been a personal fall-out between them.

“There has never been any fall out, I want to help him get a loan move,” he said.

“If he went out on loan, we would help on that side of things [financial]. And you can’t ask him to take a wage-cut. The guy has earned his contract.

“I don’t want to curtail anyone’s career. There’s no issues with him, but Alan understands the situation.”
