Aston Villa target set to snub move in favour of Hull stay

Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone is expected to snub Aston Villa in favour of sticking with the Tigers in the Championship, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

The news comes as a massive boost to Hull boss Steve Bruce, who is looking to retain as many of his senior players as possible after a disastrous campaign last season which ended in relegation.

With Jake Livermore also failing a drugs test having tested positive for cocaine, Huddleston’s decision sees some much-needed positivity return to the KC Stadium as the Humberside club looks to bounce back and secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

Huddlestone was expected to be one of the first players to leave the Tigers after their relegation, but he is determined to help City make a first-time return to the top flight.

The 28-year-old – who signed for Hull from Tottenham in 2013 – made 35 appearances in all competitions last season.
