Following three seasons in the Championship, Aston Villa are finally back in the Premier League after beating Derby County in the play-off final. In order to survive in English football's top tier, Dean Smith and co will be looking to add to their squad over the coming transfer window to give themselves the best possible chance. Here's a look at the latest rumours involving the Villans...

Benrahma off limits

According to Sky Sports News, Brentford's Said Benrahma may not be one of those new arrivals after an initial move for the player was knocked back. The Algerian winger played under Smith for the Bees before the manager moved to Villa Park, but the London side are holding out for a huge offer before considering a sale.

Competition for Barbet

The Villans will face competition from Besiktas for Brentford defender Yoann Barbet, according to Turkish outlet Asist Analiz. The Frenchman has been with the Bees for four years now but is out of contract this summer, which has caught Villa and Besiktas' attention. Wolves are also looking at the defender as they look to increase their squad depth.

Play-off hero returns

Villa have already sealed the services of Anwar El Ghazi who will be returning to the club on a permanent basis following a one-year loan from French club Lille. The Dutchman scored six goals in 34 Championship appearances last season, including the opening goal in the play-off final.
