Aston Villa are interested in Rhian Brewster, according to The Athletic. Similarly, the club could also target Kelechi Iheanacho if he seeks a loan move away from Leicester.

What's the story?

Villa are looking at the pair, from Leicester City and Liverpool respectively, as potential back up options for star striker Wesley.

This comes with the news that Villa are looking for loan or low-fee signings in January, meaning that Alfredo Morelos and Jarrod Bowen are both off their radar.

It has also been suggested that if a move is made for Jonathan Kodjia by a club during the winter window, Villa could allow the Ivory Coast international to leave.

As well as bringing in a frontman, Dean Smith is interested in recruiting a winger in January, but there will not be heavy spend in that area either.

Trouble for Keinan Davis

A move for either of the aforementioned strikers could indicate trouble for Keinan Davis, with it potentially being perceived that a lack of trust is being shown in the Villa academy product.

The 21-year-old is currently injured, but he has made six Premier League substitute appearances and three Carabao Cup starts this campaign, scoring once against Crewe Alexandra.

Links with Brewster are particularly damning for Davis, as the 19-year-old is yet to play a single Premier League minute, while he also hasn't managed to get a senior goal in his two Carabao Cup appearances to date.

A move for Iheanacho could see the Villa man move down the pecking order in the short term, with the Nigeria international highlighting how devastating he can be off the bench when he got a goal and assist against Everton.

If either of the pair do end up making a temporary move to Villa Park, it could cause a problem for Davis as he looks to make a greater impact on the first-team.

In other news, many Villa fans feel that one of their talismanic figures deserves more respect.
