With the transfer window now in full swing, Aston Villa are lining up potential targets to help them prepare for life back in the Premier League.
Reacting to the news on Twitter, there was a sense of anticipation from Villa fans who are eager to see how he’d fare in the Premier League.
One fan claimed he was young and hungry, suggesting he’d relish the chance of playing in the top-flight. Another supporter simply said he’d be a superb signing.
A further fan made an intriguing comment hinting that signing players like Roofe, rather than making expensive signings, would be beneficial in case they suffered an instant relegation.
The 26-year-old scored 15 goals in the Championship last term, the majority of which were scored in the opening months of the season.
Since the turn of the New Year, he’s only scored two goals after spending a period of time out injured.
Here’s the best of the debate…

I’d rather make a go of it in the Prem league with a strong Championship side then spend on big names that will want out IF we face relegation. This gives up best opportunity to keep our squad should be fail at top 17

Wouldn’t mind as a backup, would spend big on a striker and go for someone like Joshua king or andre Gray
