Tammy Abraham was back in the Aston Villa line-up last Saturday and back among the goals too.
The young striker tucked away a penalty to give his side the advantage going into the second leg of their play-off semi-final with West Brom after a 2-1 victory.
However, Abraham has now emerged as the subject of a possible £25m permanent switch to the club, per The Telegraph. Currently, the 21-year-old is only on loan from Chelsea.
Having been in phenomenal form this season, you’d be forgiven for thinking Villa supporters would be delighted with the news. That was far from the case, though, with certain members of their fanbase sceptical about the magnitude of the transfer on Twitter.
One fan said that spending that much money would be a big gamble and represents a steep price. Another supporter claimed they’d rather the money was spent on Axel Tuanzebe and Tyrone Mings instead.
A couple of fans suggested they couldn’t see the deal happening, making reference to his parent club’s transfer embargo.
Abraham has scored 26 goals in 38 appearances for Villa this season, playing a monumental role in ensuring they’re still in the hunt for promotion.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
That’s a big gamble. I love Tammy. And yes, he banged em in. But he didn’t do it in the Prem. Could he? Yea I hope so. But 25 million might be a bit steep. But it’s not my money, so go for it. Just make sure you sign Mings first.

Love Tammy and want him to stay, but £25 million is a big price to pay. Feels like a bit of a gamble that he could replicate his Championship form in the Premiership.

Can’t see it even if we get promotion.
With Chelsea under a transfer embargo they will likely give Tammy a chance to lead their line next season.

Can’t see it, with Chelsea transfer embargo they’ll probably need him to make their own squad up. Hopefully wrong, but logic says will not happen.

Love Tammy but I’d rather spent that on Axel and Mings if there available??♂️

Even if we do go up I can’t see Abraham, Mings or Axel staying.
Hause & El Ghazi definitely
