According to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, Aston Villa are desperate to sign Said Benrahma this summer but will not meet Brentford's £20m asking price.

Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett recently claimed that Villa had seen a bid for Benrahma rejected by the Bees.

According to Nixon, Villa remain interested in landing the attacker but a deal will not take place at Brentford's £20m asking price.

The 23-year-old had an excellent 2018-19 campaign - scoring 11 times and contributing 17 assists in 45 appearances in all competitions.

Villa are preparing for life back in the Premier League and have reportedly targeted Benrahma as the perfect player to improve their attack.

However, the price looks to be a lofty £20m.

The Villa fans have been on social media offering their views on the transfer claim and a number have differing views on what should happen.

Indeed, whilst some want a deal at the price mentioned, others have offered up an alternative plan.
