According to The Sun, Aston Villa are at the head of the queue for Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo.
Aribo scored ten times in 38 appearances for Charlton during the 2018-19 campaign but will see his contract expire at the end of next month.
A number of clubs have been linked with a swoop for the 22-year-old.
However, according to The Sun, Villa lead the race despite interest from the likes of Manchester City, Celtic and Rangers.
And it would be fair to say that the Villa fans are delighted to learn that their club are seemingly in the driving seat for the talented midfielder.
The majority of the club’s transfer plans will be on hold until after Monday’s Championship playoff final against Derby County.
However, securing a deal for Aribo would make sense regardless of whether they are a Premier League or Championship club next season.

Watched him regularly, good athlete, technically a bit sloppy but plenty of potential. Premiership would be a big step, an excellent recruit at a sensible price should we fail to go up.
