Jordan Lyden's career at Aston Villa never truly took off as the midfielder was bogged down by injuries and bad luck throughout his stay in the Midlands.

Even though he emerged through their youth ranks, he could only ever muster a total of eight appearances for their senior team and went on loan to Oldham Athletic before departing the club last March.

But then he was picked up by a lower league side Swindon Town and on Tuesday evening Lyden scored the winner for his new team in their clash against Northampton Town.

He quickly celebrated his first goal for the team on his Instagram profile.

Interestingly enough, Jack Grealish was among the people who liked his Instagram post as the current Villa star gave his support to a player who emerged through the club's academy alongside him.

Even though Lyden's career with the Villains is now far behind him, this does show that his former teammates are still following his ventures and supporting him along the way.

A like from Grealish might not seem like a big thing but positive thoughts and support can go a long way for a player struggling to find his feet in the footballing scene.
