According to The Daily Mail, Aston Villa are expected to bid for Nottingham Forest's Joe Lolley this summer as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.

What's the word?

Lolley was absolutely sensational for Forest in 2018/19, scoring on 11 occasions and also laying on 11 goals for his teammates in the Championship

The 26-year-old has become one of the most dangerous players in the league and as a result, it's hardly a surprise to see him linked with a move to a top flight outfit.

Forest dropped off the pace in a bid for a play-off place during the penultimate months of the season so they could face a battle to keep hold of him.

That's especially if Villa come calling, who per The Daily Mail, are expected to bid £10m for the attacker.

The report claims that Dean Smith has put him at the top of his list in terms of recruitment for a spot on the right wing.

Ideal for Villa

After Jack Grealish achieved promotion with his boyhood team, it would be fitting if the Villans were able to bring in another fan of the club.

Lolley is another player who used to attend games when he was younger, watching on from the Holte end as a child.

Therefore, a move for the Forest winger is sure to go down well with supporters. He'd be the ideal addition for Smith's men too.

This season, barring Anwar El Ghazi, Villa lacked goals and creativity from a wide area. The form of Albert Adomah wasn't entirely convincing so bringing in Lolley would be a masterstroke ahead of a return to the Premier League.

After not receiving a fair chance at Huddersfield, playing just six times in the top-flight last campaign, now represents the perfect chance for him to finally take the division by storm.

His tenacity and technical ability on the flanks makes him an incredible threat and should Villa add him to their side, they'd have the perfect winger to combat the problems they've had in wide areas.

At £10m, they'd be foolish not to do everything they can to bring him to Villa Park over the summer.
