Jonathan Kodjia is the subject of interest from Nottingham Forest and Ligue 1 side Amiens, as reported by Phil McNulty.

The Aston Villa striker did not take part in the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg draw against Leicester City, due to illness.

Having slammed the Ivory Coast international for his performance against Fulham, fans are now hoping that it will be his final appearance for the club.

They have pleaded with Villa to "let him go quickly before they change their minds", while there are some who have offered to drive him there.

He hasn't made a single Premier League start this season, being limited to six substitute appearances, with the latest of those, against Burnley, highlighting how much the club is in need of a new striker.

While Kodjia has been severely underwhelming, letting him leave could be seen as detrimental until a replacement is brought in, as it means Indiana Vassilev will be their main recognised striker until Keinan Davis returns.

Villa fans may feel that it is worth playing with a winger as their main man though, as they simply want Kodjia out of the club.

Some Villa fans have identified what they want to happen regarding the move, specifically if he ends up going to Nottingham Forest.

Calls have been made for a swap deal to be struck up with the Championship high-flyers that would see either Joe Lolley or Lewis Grabban go to Villa Park.

Call yourself a Premier League expert? How much did each of these big-money January signings cost?

The former has eight goal contributions in the league this campaign, while Grabban has managed to hit the back of the net 14 times, adding another assist to that total.

Whether they are able to complete a deal for either of these is unknown, but considering the current situation, bringing Grabban in could certainly be a useful way of executing Kodjia's exit.

Meanwhile, Villa have shown a change in transfer strategy with their latest addition.
