Aston Villa's transfer window has been a busy one in the few weeks since the market has been open.

In an attacking sense, they've signed both Anwar El Ghazi and Jota whilst Brentford's Neal Maupay has also been the subject of interest.

However, the latest striker to have caught their eye is Jay Rodriguez. According to The Mirror, who reported in their live blog on 12 June at 17:37, Leicester, Norwich, Sheffield United and Villa are all eyeing up a deal that could cost them £10m.

Taking to Twitter after seeing the news, Villa fans were strongly against the idea of the West Brom man joining.

One supporter claimed they'd rather see Emile Heskey back at the club whilst another fan suggested Jonathan Kodjia should be utilised instead.

A further member of the Villa Park faithful muttered that he was a yesterday man. Another individual asked when the club were going to start signing top division players.

Rodriguez was in brilliant form for Albion last season, notching 22 goals as his side lost out to Villa in the play-offs.

The striker found the net in controversial fashion against Dean Smith's side back in December so that may well have played a part in Villa fans' disapproval of a potential deal.

Here's the best of the reaction.
